FAMILY PORTRAIT SESSION

We truly love the interaction with our clients and fun family portrait sessions are one of our favorites! We strive to provide our clients with a custom experience that truly reflects and captures the unique character of each family.

The goal for any portrait session is the creation of stunning art for display in your home and keepsakes to last a lifetime. We offer our mobile in-home studio sessions, location portrait sessions and lifestyle sessions for you to choose from. We are also happy to create a package that blends a little bit of everything and that is just right for you.

Sessions start at CI$325

Digital images are delivered to a private online gallery for instant download to your computer. Prints, coffee table albums, and wall art collections are sold separately and pricing is available upon request.

FAQ

WHAT TO WEAR

Good choices in clothing is one of the key elements of a great photo session!

Dressing everyone in complimenting color schemes always work well. For example, dress everyone in creams and blues or another complimenting color scheme. Try to avoid dressing everyone in the exact same color as this can look forced and unnatural. Your photographer would be more than happy to help you finalize your photoshoot wardrobe so feel free to get in touch with us!

Please be aware that logos, name brands, words, graphics, fluorescent colors and wild patterns on clothing can detract from you and your family’s faces and we therefore recommend shying away from such clothing.

Most importantly we want you to be comfortable, wear something that you feel good in! We further encourage simple and classic clothing to ensure that your images stand the test of time.

LITTLE FACES

For those with younger children still in diapers, we recommend tucking them into your child's clothing or wearing bloomers.

For girls, keep hair accessories simple. When they are too big, this can distract from your child's beautiful face. Simple and dainty is best.

Consider bringing your child's favorite toy. Younger children often respond best to noise-making toys that grasp their attention. Other fun props than can keep their attention are bubbles, balloons, or even sand toys.

For location shoots Remember it is the Caribbean and outdoor temperatures are warm to hot! Bring some water and maybe even a small snack for the little ones.

Feel at ease at your session and go with the flow.

We will get a combination of posed, some with eye contact, others candid, and if you are up for it, action shots!

If pressured to “look at the camera and smile”, natural expressions may be lost. Many of the great images we capture are the in-between shots when the subject relaxes & smiles or is left to move and play at their desire.

Family sessions are work for both subject and photographer, but we’ve got tricks up our sleeves that make it fun and effortless so don’t worry and don’t try too hard!

BEFORE, DURING & AFTER

A Before Your Session

When you contact Picture This Studios, we will discuss your wants and needs for your session. We will discuss location, timing and give you details on anything else you need to know. We recommend that if you have chosen a location session that the timing should take place early morning or right before sunset to catch that beautiful golden light. If you have any special requests, we want to hear them!

During Your Session

All sessions are 45min-1 hour unless otherwise arranged. You decide on the location. If you have a favorite or meaningful spot, if you want to do the photos at your home, or take advice from us, we have spent years scouting around for the best locations and lighting conditions and are happy to share our favorite places to shoot. During our time we will move around the chosen location following the changing light.

Some people are naturals in front of the camera and others need a few adjustments. Our photographers will make you feel at ease and are happy to give you direction, suggest different poses and backdrops for the most diversity in your photos. And of course, any suggestions and requests from your side are always welcomed.

During the session we will have plenty of time for different groupings; individuals of the kids, the siblings, the couple, the whole family, and any other special requests that you might have.

After Your Session

Sit back and relax. We will get a proof gallery up for you within a few days. From there you can choose the images you would like for your final images. The standard session you will receive 35 high resolution edited images and if you want more, they are $5 per image and should be chosen at the same time you choose the others. Once you have chosen your images, we will edit them and turn them into beautiful family memories that will last you a lifetime.
