NEWBORN BABY ART

Your newborn will never be this small again. Capturing your baby within the first few weeks is beyond special. We can come to you with our mobile studio, set up our backgrounds and lights and make everyone feel at ease from the comfort of your home. Once you have delivered you can contact us to set up the session. Babies are best photographed within the first 2-3 weeks of life. At this stage they are still very sleepy and can be easily posed.

Newborn Location Shoots

Living by the beach makes for the easiest natural backgrounds. With a combination of the natural landscape, blankets and props we can get those gorgeous organic photos of your little one. Capturing your baby’s first sunset is nothing other than extraordinary.

TIPS

If you are nursing or bottle feeding the easiest way to ensure a sleepy baby is the willingness to feed on demand during the shoot. Whether your baby uses a pacifier or not it’s always a good idea to bring one just in case. Please bring a change of outfit and a few clothes in case of any spit up or accidents.
Your hands may be shown in some photos, so please have nails trimmed and cleaned.
Clothing is a key element for beautiful, timeless portraits. Skin to skin images capture the pureness of these relationships so we recommend bare shoulders for mom. Alternatively, solid colors work great in neutral tones such as creams, tans, grays, and soft pastel colors. Please note we generally photograph from the waist up.

Before, During & After

BEFORE YOUR SESSION:
Before the shoot, please dress baby in a gown or other loose fitting clothing to prevent red creases on the baby's skin. The diaper should also be loose as well so it can be easily removed. Try to keep baby awake before the session so your little one is nice and sleepy while we take the photos. While we are setting up you can feed and hopefully send the little one to sleep so we can easily position him/her without too much fuss.

DURING OUR SESSION:
Our newborn sessions typically last 1.5 to 2 hours. We like to schedule studio sessions in the morning as babies tend to be sleepier at this time of day. Please note we are not shooting for the entire time. Much of the session is spent switching blankets and props, getting baby fed or diaper changed and soothing baby into those beautiful peaceful poses.

AFTER YOUR SESSION

Sit back and relax. We will get a proof gallery up for you within a few days. From there you can choose the images you would like for your final images. The standard session you will receive 35 high resolution edited images and if you want more, they are $5 per image and should be chosen at the same time you choose the others. Once you have chosen your images, we will edit them and turn them into beautiful baby art that you will cherish as your child grows.
